UK / EU ONLY - Mirror Wall Decals

The Mirror Wall Decals are sticky backed acrylic so can’t break if dropped. If positioned just right they can throw some lovely bright reflections about the room. A hint though – place them lightly at first (or use bluetac before you remove the backing paper) and check that you are getting the reflections that you want. Once you're happy with the position press them more firmly to hold them in place. After finally positioning them remove the cling film on the front to expose the mirror – take the film off before you place them and you’re likely to get finger marks on the mirror. Available in 3 styles - "Princess" (shown), "Stars and Moons" and "Butterfly and Flowers". Limited stock ordered so get in early. Will be in stores in time for Christmas. Great item to wrap up under the tree.

Fun with Paint

A feature wall – it’s easy (and cheap) and look at the result:

Zanzibar

If you're shopping for a bedding set and room décor that will last you through more than one child, Kids Line has some great gender neutral collections you should take a look at. The example we are showing here is our Zanzibar collection. This is one of our longest running best sellers and continues to be as popular today as it was when it first came out. What you do with the paint in the room can twist it a little bit boy or a little bit girl.

We gave Zanzibar a modern boy treatment in this room and it looks fantastic (even if we do say so ourselves). We picked up on the autumnal colours in this collection as a starting point for the feature wall, this is a red brick tone working with both the red and browns in the linens. Remember – it’s not always necessary to ‘match’ a paint colour to the linen. The timber floor got a rich dark liquorice stain – you might prefer to paint the floor, if so just be sure to look into more "how to" information and buy a suitable floor paint. The neutral cream on the other three walls ensures an attractive nursery without being too over the top, and means only the feature wall to repaint next time – if number 2 (or 3) is a girl! We’ve also added a grosgrain black ribbon on the wall from which we’ve hung the wall hangings. You could also get this effect with paint, or be bold and paint an large inexpensive picture frame black, mount it on the wall and position the wall hangings inside it – or give them each an individual black frame to sit in. If you’re planning for a summer arrival you could change the feature wall to a light grey sage green and paint the floor in a sand tone, add a cream ribbon to hang the wall décor and that’s it – you’re done. A little effort for a big result.

Use a Zanzibar floor rug to add some zing and softness under foot or really go out on a limb and source a zebra print rug – how brilliant would that look! Have fun with it all – it’s a nursery after all and will form some of the earliest memories your new born will have. It will also be the room most visitors will see, so pick quality bedding that lasts and make the room special. Give the feature wall idea a try – you won’t be disappointed.

Tip for Dad – earn some brownie points and get this make over done while Mum is out for an afternoon.
